NAF Dance continuously strives to create theatrical explosions on stage, highlighting the magic in the mundane and the marriage between tragedy and humour. Moulded through a cinematic lens and coated with an exterior layer of physical theatre and slapstick, humour, eclectic, magical worlds begins to unfold. .

As a choreographer, Nóra Ní Anluain Fay’s vision is that she is relentlessly striving through the madness to capture and rehash a childlike dream that loads her, by redoing the magical fantasies she is charged with. While balancing on bucket loads of sheer audacity in hoping that in showing to an audience will be as sparkling as it feels. She also has the beautiful ability of being able to laugh at dance. In her own words;

  “I don’t have the same sacred connection with that many other choreographers do I can see it for what it is. I can immediately cut through to reveal the layers of humanity beneath. When it is a natural state and the performers truly seem like humans is where it excites me.”

She draws inspiration from many elements rather solely from dance, though it is the leading vessel of the work. By using film, text, writing and lavish costumes and set, she creates a whole world on stage, with no hierarchy between mediums.

The work is open to and caters to all audiences. We delve into universal topics through a persoanl lense that make dance accessible to everyone. This include reality tv, growing, dating shows, mysterious murders, royalty and party politics. We wish to create spaces that allow everyone in.
